Join Enid Lee in a special virtual professional development series,

Making Equity Work in Distance Teaching and Learning.

May 7, May 14, and May 21

4:00PM to 5:30PM EDT

This series is sponsored by the Washington Teachers' Union.

At the heart of our work is the knowledge that Equity is a Workplace issue for students, employees and families.

COVID-19 and the accompanying challenges have exposed longstanding educational inequalities. For example:

  • Access to chrome books and the Internet

  • Equitable teacher support, supervision and evaluation,

  • Respectful and effective engagement with families

  • Culturally rich and rigorous curriculum

  • Inclusive, anti-bias learning environment

The new context of distance teaching and learning provides us with the opportunity to address inequity and promote equity. In this series we will apply an equity framework to distance teaching and learning.

Each of us will be able to identify ways to embed equity in new aspects of our work. You will leave each session with:

  • Solutions to scenarios

  • Strategies to implement in distance teaching and learning

  • Short research articles, videos and tools for extending your learning and sharing with colleagues, students and families.

  • Sense of solidarity with participants.
