The guiding principle of this company is that in order to build multicultural organizations and societies, racism must be confronted. ***
This document highlights the process and the key components for a model used for professional development and organizational change in a school community working towards equitable outcomes for all students.
Process:
There are 7 activities in this process which schools typically work through over a 3 year period to begin to experience the fundamental changes. The process is not necessarily linear, but rather one that weaves back and forth with some activities taking place simultaneously.
Activites:

Key Components Of This Process:
1 Public commitment of the leadership of the school to the initiative
2 An integration of the initiative into the overall vision and accountability system
3 Whole school community exposure to the principles and progress of the initiative
4 A key contact for the project
5 A segment of the faculty or staff engaged in the in-depth work on equity principles in their everyday practice
6 Adequate time and human resources for teachers to engage in conferencing, workshops and reflection
7 A commitment to on-going dialogue among those engaged in the process and with the external consultant
This process has been developed and is being used with relative degrees of success by the firm of Enidlee Consultants Inc. in 15 schools across the United States and Canada.
