Black Books Galore's Guide to Great African American Children's Books
by Donna Rand, Toni Trent Parker, Sheila Foster
Review
"I found the book, overall, very useful. I enjoyed the commentary, and found that the books were seemingly well organized by age/grade. I liked the diversity of material that was represented and found that the annotation was especially helpful in knowing if it would coordinate with curriculum or be of interest to particular students. I liked that in many circumstances there was an image of a book's cover, because in some cases I recognized a book, or realized I had it or had read it or that it is in our school library. ( I am a visual person.) In addition, I recommended it to two Black families that were intrigued and interested and hoped to get their own copies."
